Milo B. Thorne

Milo B. Thorne, 84, of 7850 M-65, Long Rapids Township, died at his home Tuesday morning (March 23).  He was born May 1, 1891 in Long Rapids and was a life-long resident of the area.  He married the former Maymie Brown in Alpena in January, 1913.  He engaged in lumbering and farming and served as manager of the Agricultural Adjustment Administration for 17 years.  He also served as Long Rapids Township supervisor for two years.  He was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church and Alpena Elks Lodge No. 505.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Jean) Martindale of Alpena; two grandchildren; a great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Thorne's body is at the Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call and where funeral service will be at 2 P.M. Friday with the Rev. John Hunt officiating.  Interment: Long Rapids Cemetery.  Memorials: Grace Episcopal Church Memorials.
