The Obituary of Emily Anna Lester McKay

Mrs. Emily A. McKay died Wednesday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Glenn Curby, Ossineke, after a week's illness. Born Jan 30, 1868, in Brighton, Ontario, she came to Montmorency county at the age of six and was married to John P. McKay in 1897. They lived in Wilson twp until his death July 26, 1935. Since then Mrs. McKay had lived with her daughters, Mrs. Curby and Mrs. Walter Dann of Alpena. She was a member of Wilson Free Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to her daughters are two sons, Elza of Detroit and Earl, with the U.S. Army; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Bedfore, Kenmore, N.Y., and Mrs. Catherine Meikle, Pawtucket, Md; three stepchildren, Herman McKay of Ovid, Mich., R. V. McKay, Detroit, and Mrs. Mary Johnson, Medford, Ore.; two grandchildren, one great grandchild and 15 step grandchildren.

The body will be at the Wachterhauser funeral home until 1 p.m. Saturday when it will be taken to the Wilson Free Methodist church. Funeral service will be at 3:30, the Rev. Glenn Vibbert officiating. Interment in King Settlement cemetery.
