Charles E. Herron

 

Charles E. Herron, 90, of 313 S. Fifth, died at 12:16 P.M. Sunday at his home, He had been incapacitated for the past year.

 

Born November 10, 1869 in Wilson-twp, Mr. Herron was the son of Mr. And Mrs. George Herron. Pioneer settlers in Wilson. He engaged in farming there until 1940 when he retired and moved to Alpena to reside.

 

Mr. Herron’s marriage to Ida E. Warren took place in Alpena in 1901. She survives, as do one son, Gerald, of Alpena; four daughters, Mrs. A.B. Crebassa (Marjorie) of California; Mrs. Eunice Shinn, Mrs. Helen Combs, and Doris of Detroit, six grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Ida Shenk of Alpena. A son Ralph died in 1959.

 

Mr. Herron’s body is at the Wachterhauser funeral home where service will be at 2 Wednesday. The Rev. R.J. Reuthin of Free Methodist church will officiate. Committal service at the municipal cemetery chapel will be followed by interment in Evergreen cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be Harlo Herron, Harold King, Clayton Smith, Robert Cochrane, and Elmer Shenk, all nephews.
