Viola Herron

 

Viola (Mrs. Alger) Herron, 73, of 7880 Elevere, Spratt, died Wednesday (July 23) at Alpena Hospital after an extended illness. Born Viola Beatty, March 3, 1907 in Green Township, she had lived in the area most of her life.

 

On Nov. 7, 1936, she married Alger Herron in Flint. They engaged in berry farming in the Spratt area for 27 years until retiring in 1965. Mrs. Herron was a past member of the Spratt Farm Bureau and a member of the Lucky 13 Club.

 

Surviving are her husband, Alger,; a son, Robert of Lachine; eight grandchildren; a brother George Beatty of Mount Pleasant; and a sister, Jean (Mrs. Robert) Peterson of California. Two sisters preceded her in death.

 

Mrs. Herron’s body is at Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 p.m. today and where the funeral is tentatively scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m.

 

Interment: Spratt Cemetery.

The body of Viola (Mrs. Alger) Herron is at Bannan Funeral Home where the funeral is Saturday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Harlold Blakely officiating.

 

Mrs. Herron, 73, of 7880 Elevere, Spratt, died Wednesday (July 23) at Alpena Hospital after an extended illness.

 

Interment: Spratt Cemetery.

Note: Son Gerald Beatty is not listed here. At the time of Alger’s death in 1991 he was listed as living in Saginaw.
