Mrs. George A. Shenk

 

Mrs. George A. Shenk, 90, of 310 W. Baldwin, died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Alpena Hospital where she was admitted Monday.

 

The former Ida B. Herron, she was born in Wilson-twp Dec. 30, 1880 and was married to George A. Shenk Nov. 16, 1904. He died in 1958. Mrs. Shenk was a member of the First United Methodist Church and had been active in Wilson-twp affairs before moving to Alpena in 1942.

 

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Neil Clem at home; five sons, Elmer of Wilson-twp, Eldon of Ossineke, Adrian at home, Ferris of Troy, and Robert of Centerline; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

 

Friends may call at the Wachterhauser Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today. Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, the Rev. V.J. Carson officiating.

 

Committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Municipal Chapel. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
