Shock from Fall
Proves Fatal to Prominent Woman
Mrs. William King, aged 62, passed away Monday night [Aug. 2] at her home in the King Settlement, Wilson Township. Death is believed due to nervous shock, resulting from a fall she sustained at her home about six weeks ago.
Mrs. King (Anna Herron), was born in St. Clair County and came to Alpena County with her parents, Mr. And Mrs. George Herron, when a small child. Forty-one years agos he was united in marriage to William H. King in this city by the Rev. William Donnelly. The couple settled on a farm in Wilson soon after and had made their home there since.
She was one of those beloved characters to whom a community goes for council and suggestion. Characteristic of Mrs. King was her readiness to give freely of herself towards any worthy cause of aid at any and all times.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son Harold King of Wilson and one daughter, Mrs. Frank Petherick, Alpena. There are four brothers, George, Frank, Charles, and Fred Herron and three sisters, Mrs. James Willets, Flint; Mrs. Henry Cochran and Mrs. George Shenk, Wilson Township.
The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon from the Methodist church at King Settlement, Rev. Frank Day officiating.
