Harvey C. Herron
Harvey Colburne Herron, 43, died Tuesday evening at his home at 608 Chisholm following an illness which incapacitated him since December. He had been at Harper hospital for examination.
Born June 23, 1901, in Herron he had attended rural and city schools and Ferris Institute. He had resided in Alpena and vicinity his entire life with the exception of 11 years in Flint. His marriage to Doris McKay took place Mar. 29, 1939.
Mr. Herron had operated a farm implement store at Hillman until it burned in April 1942 after which he farmed at Long Rapids. For a year prior to his illness he had been employed at the Besser Manufacturing-co.
Surviving are his wife; his father Fred Herron and Mrs. Herron, Alpena; and a brother Harlo Herron of Alpena.
The body is at Williams funeral service where services will be held Friday at 2:30, the Rev. W.B. Jarman of the First Baptist church officiating. Long Rapids Odd Fellows will have charge of the service at the grave.
Mrs. Herron’s mother, Mrs. Azuba McKay of Detroit has been with her the past several weeks and will remain for sometime.
Harvey and Doris Herron apparently had no children. Unfortunately, nothing more is currently known about Mrs. Herron.
