MRS. RALPH JACOBS
The death of Mrs. Ralph Jacobs occurred at home of her son, Frank Herron, in Spratt Thursday night. She had been ill eight weeks and her condition became serious Christmas day.
She was born Jan. 1, 1869 in Burnside, Lapeer county. Her maiden name was Barbara Stambaugh and she married George Herron in 1886. They moved to Spratt a year after their marriage. Mr. Herron died 20 years ago. She married Ralph Jacobs in 1945.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Frank and Alger Herron of Spratt and Arnold Herron of Flint; two daughters, Mrs. Harry McLeod, Flint; Mrs. Leo Sampson, Detroit; two brothers, Samuel Stambaugh of Galeton, Penn., and Herman Stambaugh of Hinsdale, N.Y.; a sister, Mrs Lydia Hurford of Ubly; 20 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
The body is at her home in Spratt. Funeral services have been tentatively set for Sunday at 2 from the Spratt Methodist church, the Rev. Varian Treaver of Spratt Free Methodist church, and Rev. John Roach of Spratt Methodistchurch, officiating. Interment in Spratt cemetery.

According to my dad and my uncle Glen she was a pretty sweet lady – “as close to an angel on earth as you get” or words to that effect.
