Henry Cochrane

 

The death of Henry Cochrane, well known resident of Wilson township, occurred Sunday morning at 12:30 o’clock at his home following an illness extending over the past ten weeks.

 

Mr. Cochrane was born December 11, 1866, in Canada and came to the Wilson in 1894. For 20 years he operated a blacksmith shop at the same time being also engaged in farming.

 

At the time of his death Mr. Cochrane was a member of the township school board. At various times during his long residence in Wilson he had served as township clerk and justice of the peace. His marriage to Estella Herron took place in 1898.

 

Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Arthur Mains of Dearborn; three sons, Oran of St. Louis, Robert of Alpena and Donald at home; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Loomis of Long Rapids and Mrs. Robert Harrison of Canada; two brothers, Robert of Alpena and Sam of Sand Point, Idaho; and nine grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held Tuesdayafternoon at 1 o’clock at the home and at 1:30 o’clock at Wilson Methodist church, Rev. J.N. Cobb officiating. Interment will be in King Settlement cemetery.

 

Oran Cochrane will be prevented by illness from attending. Mr. And Mrs. Arthur Mains of Dearborn arrived today to attend the services.
