Local Death Notices for George C. Herron, 1887

 

We regret to announce the death of Geo. C. Herron, of Wilson township, who, after a sickness of a few weeks, died last Tuesday afternoon, May 10, about 1:00 o’clock. He was 51 years of age and leaves a wife and a large family.

 

Mr. Herron was one of the first pioneer settlers of Wilson township, and has held responsible township offices for many years, and was one of the most popular, enterprising, and respected citizens of this county. His funeral was one of the best attended ever known in that township. Mr. Herron will be sadly missed by his good neighbors in Wilson township for years to come.

Geo. C. Herron, a well known pioneer of this county, and a leading citizen of Wilson township, died at his residence on Tuesday of Last week, aged 51 years. He was one of the first settlers of Wilson township and has held office of township clerk, many times. He leaves many friends behind.
