John McKay's Obituary

Funeral services were held this afternoon at one thirty o'clock at the McKay home in Wilson for John P. McKay, aged 82, whose death occurred Saturday evening in Traverse City. At 2:30 o'clock, services were held at the Free Methodist church in Wilson, Rev. C. L. Morris officiating

Mr. McKay was born in Sombra, Ontario, and came to Alpena county 57 years ago locating in Wilson where he was engaged in lumbering and farming. He was interested in township affairs and had held various township offices. He was an active member of the Free Methodist Church.

Surviving are his widow and seven children. Herman and Earl of Wilson, R. V., Elza, Mrs Zana Curby and Mrs. Zaley Dann of Detroit and Mrs. Mary Johnson of Oregon, seventeen grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one brother Murdock McKay of Wilson and three sisters in Detroit and one in Welsville, Ohio.
